But what&#8217;s behind it all?<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Whats_behind_the_CBD_oil_hype\"><\/span>What&#8217;s behind the CBD oil hype?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>Minor effects on pain, inflammation, sleep and skin problems &#8211; <strong>products containing cannabidiol, a plant ingredient in cannabis<\/strong>, are said to be able to do this. Many people associate cannabis with drug use, but that is about to change. We will explain how cannabidiol (CBD) works and how to use it.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"CBD_oil_what_is_cannabidiol\"><\/span>CBD oil: what is cannabidiol?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>The main active ingredients in the cannabis plant are CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (\u03b4-9-tetrahydrocannabinol).  <strong>Unlike THC (e.g. in the form of marijuana), which produces a high sense of psychedelia and therefore makes you &#8220;high&#8221;, CBD does not produce intoxicating effects.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The European Court of Justice has also ruled that: &#8220;Compared to THC, it &#8216;obviously has no mental or harmful effects&#8217;. It is clear: CBD is not a drug.<\/p>\n\n<p>On the contrary, CBD is said to have anticonvulsant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, cannabidiol is said to have calming and anti-anxiety effects.<\/p>\n\n<p>In France, CBD can be sold as a dietary or beauty supplement without a prescription, but it cannot be sold as a drug. In Switzerland, there are also cigarettes containing CBD on the market.<\/p>\n\n<p>The most common method of administration remains CBD oil. However, CBD can also be taken in tablet form or processed into cosmetics. Neurologists state, &#8220;There is a lack of good research on the effectiveness of CBD.&#8221; &#8220;But CBD is said to have anti-inflammatory effects and interfere with vasodilation and serotonin metabolism.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p>The scope of the CBD&#8217;s impact is broad. However, various studies have shown that CBD has antibacterial effects, which can protect cells from oxidative stress and slow down inflammation.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_CBD_used_for\"><\/span>What is CBD used for?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>Epilepsy: Early results indicate that CBD can support the treatment of epilepsy (especially in children) and reduce the frequency of seizures.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Pain:<\/strong> cannabinoids have an analgesic effect. Therefore, CBD can have a positive effect on joint pain, headaches (migraine) and menstrual pain. CBD has also been used effectively for fibromyalgia and arthritis.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Skin problems:<\/strong> according to research published in the Journal of Clinical Research, CBD may also have a soothing effect on atopic dermatitis, acne and other skin problems.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Anxiety:<\/strong> Studies have shown that cannabidiol can slow down the production of anxiety hormones. In this regard, CBD not only has a positive effect on everyday anxiety, but also seems to help relieve anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Stress and sleep disorders:<\/strong> CBD has a relaxing effect and improves sleep quality. It is also thought that stress-related problems, such as nervousness or irritability, may be alleviated by CBD.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Cancer treatment:<\/strong> Studies have also shown that CBD oil can ensure faster destruction of cancer cells, slow tumor growth and inhibit metastasis.
